Jeanette E. Koch
November 3, 1928 — September 30, 2016
On September 30, 2016, Jeanette E. Koch, 87, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Jeanette was born on November 3, 1928 in Jonesville, NY. She was the daughter of the late Harrison W. Kerwood and Edith Miller Kerwood.
On December 30, 1951, Jeanette married Herbert C. Koch and they enjoyed 63 happy years together, until his passing on February 15, 2015.
She is survived by her brother, Everett Kerwood and her five children, Patricia (Tim) Wacker, Deborah (Garrett) Aldershoff, Daniel (Cathy) Koch, Peter Koch, Cheryl Koch Michelfelder; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Though she worked at GE and the Boston Store for a number of years, Jeanette was primarily a homemaker. She was much appreciated by her husband for her care of him, their children and home. Jeanette enjoyed crafts and made items that were much admired by everyone.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 from 10:00am-12:00pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY 12205. A funeral service for Jeanette will begin on Saturday at 12:00pm. Interment will follow services at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Jeanette's memory to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave, Schenectady, NY 12302 or to the Schenectady City Mission, 425 Hamilton St., Schenectady, NY 12305.
