Jean Ann Mace

1936 — 2025

Rotterdam Jct

Jean Ann Mace, 89, of Rotterdam Junction, NY, wife of her late husband Kenneth Mace, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025, with her loving and devoted daughter by her side. Born on June 16th, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Mary (cochrane) Hart.

Jean grew up with a great love for her family and friends, and continued to share her love with everyone she met. Even up to her last days. Jean was well known for her family owned Gas Station “Maces service station” in Rotterdam Junction, until the passing of her late husband in 1986. She then found a second family with Kmart in Glenville of over 25 years. When Kmart closed in 2006, she was nowhere ready to retire, and started at Albany-Saratoga Speedway & Market 32 Clifton Park. Jean was the happiest seeing her regular customers, and coworkers, who were like family. Jean went by “Gram”, “Aunt Jean” “Ma”, to everyone, family or not. Jean was who you could count on no matter what, without hesitation, without judgment, and the bonnie to your clyde. In Jean’s sparetime, you would find her in her early years, attending the Saratoga harness track with her horses, spending time with her grandchildren, attending trips to the casino (hoping to win it big),Sunday dinners at her nieces home, attending family events and enjoying a nice cup of coffee with her fur babies tucked in close.

Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Jean was predeceased by her late husband Kenneth Mace; Brother’s:, Melvin, Raymond, Robert and Donald Hart; Sister’s: Claudia Russell, Mildred Burch, Melva Schrom and Ann Laplante.
