Jean M. Sgambelluri

Colonie- Jean M. Sgambelluri (Salerno), 81, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 8th 2015 at St. Peter's Hospital. Jean was born in Albany, NY and the daughter of the late Neil and Bessie Salerno. Jean is predeceased by her husband Arthur J. Sgambelluri Sr.

Jean was a vital part of the Paramount Lounge which was family owned by the Sgambelluri's for over 30 years. She was also a member of the Italian Benevolent Society (IBS) of West Albany.

She is survived by her sons; Mark and his wife Mary and their three children; Nicholas (Jacquelyn Grenier), Matthew (Angela Ramundo), Marissa Sgambelluri all from Colonie, NY. Jean's son Arthur J. Sgambelluri Jr of Charleston, SC and his three sons; James (Kristin), Justin (Stacey) and Joel (Jen). Jean is also survived her six great grandchildren; Carsyn, Addisyn, Dominick, Caleigh, Bailey and Peyton.

Also left to mourn Jean's passing are her brother and sister in-laws; Joseph Curione, Teresa Bonanni, Francis Sgambelluri, Michael and Yvonne Sgambelluri, Grace Sgambelluri . She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and three cousins who loved her dearly.

She is predeceased by her siblings; Neil Salerno (Joan) & Patricia Curione. In addition she is also predeceased by Vincent Bonanni, Joseph and Anne Sgambelluri, George and Rosemary VanAlstyne, Anna and Anthony Sgambelluri.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, April 14th 2015 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie, NY 12205. A memorial Mass will be held Thursday, April 16th 2015 at 9:00am at St. Clare's Church (1947 Central Avenue, Albany, NY 12205). Entombment will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Jean's name to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society (3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY 12204).
