Guilderland- Jean L. Barber, 90, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2017.
She was born on August 13, 1926 in Hawthorne, NJ, daughter of the late William and Mabel (MacPhail) Gladwin.
Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Jean attended New Covenant Presbyterian Church. She was an avid reader and crossword puzzler. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, taking trips and visiting Saratoga Race Track. She will be dearly missed.
Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alton Barber and her brother and sisters.
She is survived by her children, William (Sue) Barber and Linda (Jim) Donovan; grandchildren, Karl (Danny Stone) Barber and Emily (Mike) Powers and her nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 27, 2017 from 10am-12pm at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205. A funeral service to celebrate Jean's life will begin at 12pm following visitation. Burial will take place in the spring at Onesquethaw Cemetery.
