Albany- Janice J. Eckhardt

Born in Port Henry, NY on February 13, 1929 to the late Leon and Mae (Ritson) Jackson. She was the beloved wife of 64 years to the late George A. Eckhardt, whom she married in 1949.

Janice was a graduate of Mineville High School and Albany Business College. She retired from NYS DEC in 1988 and began volunteering at Albany Memorial Hospital in 1989.

She was an avid bowler, golfer and mall walker.

She is predeceased by her siblings Mary Archambault and Herbert Jackson.

Janice is survived by her son David (Sharon) Eckhardt, of White House, TN, daughter Nancy Eckhardt of Albany, grandchildren Erick (Kim) Eckhardt of Framingham, MA and Jennifer (Paul) Gambino of Catskill NY, great grandchildren Adrianna and Kaitlyn Eckhardt, and Grayson Gambino, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A service will be held on Friday September 18 at Noon at Loudonville Community Church, 374 Loudon Rd Albany.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Red Cross or Loudonville Community Church.
