Janet D. Wicks

It is with great sadness that the family of Janet Dorothy Wicks announce her passing on August 6th 2025 at the age of 78. 

Janet was born September 17, 1946 in Floral Park, Long Island, New York. She was the daughter of the late James Allen Reith and Dorothy Josephine Stiles. 

Janet was the younger sister to the late James Reith of Albany NY and the older sister to Doris Youzwak of Halfmoon NY. Loving mother to the late Paul Wicks, Marylou Johnston and husband Bob, Elizabeth Bonneau and late husband Terry, Deborah Sobieski and husband Ed. Proud grandma and great grandma to Stephen, Ronald, Brian, Alex, Aggie, Jake, Lucas and Evan, Caleb, Mia, Alessandra, Thomas, Weston, Zoe, Gabriel, Liam, Skyler, Nicki, and Mila. Aunt and great aunt to Jill, Shannon, James, Michelle, Dylan, Haley, Patrick and Emily.

Janet grew up in NY with her 2 siblings and mother. She had 4 children with the late George Wicks. Janet worked various jobs over the years ranging from the VA in Albany NY and Jamaica Plain as a manager in the housekeeping department, a notary, a New York State Board of Elections Inspector for the city, state and national elections, and was a member of the League of Woman's Voters.

Janet enjoyed traveling, various adventures like white water rafting, summers finding sea glass at Nantasket Beach with friends and family, leaf peeping in the fall, day trips to the casino with friends and her sister, cooking, social gatherings, and celebrating the holidays with friends and family.
