Janet T. Skinkle

Janet T. Skinkle, 89, passed away March 5, 2026 quietly in her home in South Colonie of natural causes after a brief period of declining health.

Janet was born in Albany, NY to Charles F. Skinkle and Genevieve (Fitzpatrick) on November 10th, 1936. A Graduate of Albany High School. After graduation Janet immediately went to work for the NYTEL company for 29 years receiving numerous awards and achievements for her hard work and dedication. Janet was a life time member of the Polish American Community Center, and supported St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital making a difference in the lives of thousands of children, giving them hope for a healthy future. She was a devout Christian and supporter of other such charity foundations.

Janet enjoyed people, socializing, and being with family and friends. She was very kind-hearted and generous to all she came in contact with. She will be remembered for her easy-going and positive attitude which rubbed off on all that came in contact with her. She treated all people with respect and did not expect anything in return. She was a giver. She believed that sometimes miracles are just people with kind hearts that GOD has sent to you. All that met her will remember what a great person she was to them and miss her dearly.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, Charles F. Skinkle and Genevieve (Fitzpatrick), brother Charles A. Skinkle and sister Katherine Richardson.

Janet is survived by her son Jeffery M. Skinkle; brother Francis M. Skinkle (Michael W. Krahula); nieces: Kim M. (Skinkle) Lamphere, Kelly (Gilliam) French, Dalores Romano, Donna Domion, and nephews: Brandon Skinkle, Jay Skinkle, Kirk Skinkle, Kevin Skinkle, Sister in-laws: Terry Skinkle and Margaret Skinkle.

A visitation will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY, on Friday March 13, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon with a service to be held at 12 Noon. Burial will immediately follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
