Jane E. Wood, 87, of Schenectady, passed away on December 22, 2025 at Schenectady Center.

She was born on August 30, 1938 to the late Charles and Laura (Gathen) Williams in Chatham Center, NY.

Jane graduated from SUNY Cobleskill College where she met her love of her life Walter. After raising her children she went back to work as a Diet Tech at Oswald D. Heck until she retired. Jane and Walt love spending time at their camp at the Great Sacandaga Lake. She love boating and jet skiing and hanging out with friends and family. Jane was a great cook and baking her favorites- cheesecake and cookies and the family favorite dinner rolls. Her other passions were gardening and her loved koi pond that she spent hours attending to.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 59 years, Walter S. Wood II and her brother Richard Williams.

Jane is survived by her children Walter S. Wood III, Suzanne (Rick) Quay and Peggy (Edward) Paskevich, her grandchildren; Brett Quay and family, Joseph (Brianna) Paskevich, Amanda (Mark) Paskevich, Kevin Paskevich, Jennifer Blackwell and family as well as her beautiful great grandchildren- Harper Paskevich, Ryan Paskevich, Evelyn Belles, Luke Paskevich and Anna Belles and her sister Francis Bogausch.

Services will be private.

Interment will take place in Viewland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Protective Foundation Maple Avenue

The family wants to say thank you to the staff and nurses at the Schenectady Center for their kind and compassion for caring for our mother during her time there.
