Mrs. Jane (Nobles) Harper, born on July 6, 1929, in Albany, New York, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026, in Schenectady, New York, at the age of 96 with her devoted son at her side.

Jane was a devoted homemaker and retired from the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles. Her life was centered around her family and the joy she found in creating a warm and welcoming home. She had a deep love for boating on Sacandaga Lake and cherished entertaining family and friends at their house by the water. Jane’s passion for gardening was evident in the vibrant vegetables she cultivated with care. Above all, she treasured spending time with her children and grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

Jane is survived by her beloved husband of 76 yrs, John L. Harper Sr.; her son, John L. Harper Jr. (Mary Ann); her daughter, Janice H. Maswick (Robert); her sister, Kathleen Govel; her grandchildren, James L. Maswick & Kyle J. Harper; and her great-grandchildren Meghan & Jack Maswick and Oakley Harper. She was predeceased by her brother James Nobles; sisters Dorothy Dwyer and Elida Harris; and brother Charles Nobles.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and aides at Kingsway Arms for their compassion during Jane’s final days. They are especially thankful to the women in the Memory Care unit at Kingsway Manor for their unwavering love and dedication to Jane. She loved you as much as you loved her.

Jane’s legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who mourn her passing. In lieu of flowers, consider donating to a charity of your choice in Jane’s memory.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8 from 10am to 12pm with a service to immediately follow at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, Colonie. Burial will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie.
