Albany- James D. Williams, 55 passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 18, 2017 at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center.
Born in Albany he was the son of Doug and Marion Williams. Jim lived in the Albany area all of his life. He was a graduate of Shaker High School, class of 1981. Following his graduation he was the recipient of the Colonel Vawter Award of which he was very proud of. Earlier in his life, he was active in the
Boys Scouts and attained the coveted rank of Eagles Scout, the highest award in scouting.
Jim was also a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in various units in different capacities. He was also a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church of Latham.
In addition to his parents Jim is survived by his siblings, Susan Kennen (the late Greg Kennen) and Bill Williams (Cindy). Jim is also survived by his nieces, Kristine Kennen-D'Amario (Adam), Adele Williams and nephew, Zachary Williams.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 11:30am-12:30pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY 12189. A funeral service will follow beginning at 12:30pm at the funeral home with interment being held at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
