James L. Prince

ALBANY- James L. Prince, age 78, passed away comfortably at home with family on July 17, 2026.

He was born in Albany, the son of the late Elizabeth Kirkley. He was also predeceased by his son James Prince Jr. and his siblings: Joan Griffin, Joyce Prince, Wayne, Kim, Keith, Bruce and Debra Crayon.

He was a lifelong Mechanic. He was a great dad, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed watching old western movies, fishing, hunting and racing. He was an avid poker player. He liked Jazz music and peace and quiet.

James is survived by longtime partner of 56 years, Mary DiCarlo; children: Elizabeth, Keith (Laura), Brian, Tyler (Deanna), Ralene (Al), Jawon, Natasha (Tommie), Tina (Anthony), Mark (Destiny), Charlotte and Najhere; siblings: Kevin Crayon and Denise Cain. Also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Thursday July 23, 2026 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend his service following at 1 p.m.
