Albany- James W. McCann, 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2018 surrounded by the love of his family.
Jim was born in Albany, NY on June 14, 1937 to the late William and Mary McCann. He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps. Jim was married to Elaine McCann and together they raised three children. Jim was an avid golfer. As a recovered alcoholic for 29 years, he will be remembered as being a kind, and supporting sponsor and friend to countless members in the AA program.
Jim is predeceased by his beloved daughter, Melissa Buchanan, and his sister, Mary (Matt) Bosworth.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine McCann, his beloved children, Robert McCann, Tina (David) Webber, his son-in-law, Paul Buchanan II, his grandchildren, Paul III (Joanna), Blake, Troy, Gabrielle, Kyle, his siblings, Nancy (Victor) Lown, Dora (Leonard) D'amato, his beloved dog, Jack, and a host of nieces and nephews.
At Jim's request there will be no services.
