It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of James C. Macy, beloved husband, father and grandfather, after a brief illness. He passed away peacefully on October 15th, 2025 surrounded by his loving family..
Born in Cohoes, NY on May 2, 1952. Jim, devoted much of his working life to Macy's Light Delivery, working alongside his brother, Ray. Together, they were a formidable team and reflected their shared commitment to a great work ethic and family values.
Jim was known for his specialty dishes that he so enjoyed making for friends and family. He enjoyed hunting, boating, smoking meats, and making special food items for his grandson, Hudson.
Jim is survived by his wife, Nancy and his daughter, Diana. He was "Pa" to his greatest joy, his grandson, Hudson (also survived by Hudson's mother, Pam Janusz) Also survived by his best friend/brother Ray (Joanne), and his sister, Pat. Predeceased by his son, Michael.
He will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and cousins, and Skipper
He will be remembered for all he did for us, his specialties he made for the holidays and generosity and expertise he showed to all who knew him.
A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, October 20th, 2025 from 3-5PM with a service to immediately follow at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, NY 12189.
