James "Jim" Arthur Kennedy

James Arthur Kennedy ,79, passed away on December 18th. He was the son of the late William and Mildred Kennedy. James was a devoted husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was rooted in family and love.

James was married to his beloved wife, Teri, for 30 years. Together they built a life centered on commitment, care, and family. He was the proud father of three sons, Dean, Jimmy, and Dennis (Sandy) Kennedy, and one daughter, Shawn (David) VanGasbeck. He was also a loving stepfather to two stepdaughters, Diane and Denise, and a stepson, John.

James was blessed with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him great joy.

He was one of nine siblings and was preceded in death by his brother, David. 

James will be remembered by his family for his presence, his love, and the bonds he held close throughout his life.

James Arthur Kennedy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

A public visitation will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner road, Colonie, New York 12205 on Wednesday January 7, 2026 from 4:00pm at 5:00pm with a memorial service to begin at 5:00pm.
