Inge M. Wright

East Berne- Inge Margarete Wright, born on February 15, 1940, in Roth, Bavaria, Germany, peacefully passed away on July 27, 2026, exactly two months and one hour after the passing of her beloved husband of 65 years, Richard Wright Sr. Their enduring love was one that inspired all who knew them, and they are now reunited in eternal peace.

Born to the late Johann Georg Meier and Margareta Meier, Inge spent her early years in Germany, where she worked as a printer's assistant in a local printing shop. In 1960, she met the love of her life, Richard Wright Sr., while he was serving in the United States Army. Their love quickly blossomed, and later that year, Inge bravely left her homeland and traveled to the United States to begin a new life with him. They were married on October 23, 1960, and together built a beautiful family and a lifetime of cherished memories.

Throughout her life, Inge worked as a waitress and later as a home health aide, but the role she treasured most was that of wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker. She devoted countless hours to helping raise her grandchildren, filling their lives with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Inge had a passion for cooking and baking, and no one ever left her home hungry. She found joy in tending her gardens and surrounding herself with beautiful flowers. She was known for her strength, honesty, and fearless spirit. Inge always spoke her mind, never hesitating to tell it like it was, yet she did so with humor, warmth, and deep love. Her quick wit, generous heart, and unwavering devotion to her family will be dearly missed by everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

She is lovingly survived by her sons, Steven Wright and Richard Wright Jr.; her cherished grandchildren, Candice Stempel, Fallon Wright (John), Alex Wright, and Rachel Wright; and her adored great-grandchildren, Brendon Chrysler, Hailey Jackson, Ivy Stempel, Charlotte Gardnier, Addilynn Gardnier, and Daylynn Gardnier. She also leaves behind several beloved nieces and nephews, as well as her devoted caregivers, Diane, Susie, and Elaine, whose kindness and compassion brought comfort and friendship during her final years.

Inge is also survived by her sister, Helga Meier Knapp (Heinz), whose current status is unknown.

In addition to her parents, Inge was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard Wright Sr., and her brothers, Hansel Meier and Georg Meier.

Inge's legacy lives on through the family she loved beyond measure. Her strength, resilience, sense of humor, and unconditional love will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing she is once again by Richard's side—the love of her life—and that their love story continues in eternity.

In accordance with Inge's wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. Her family will honor her life privately, remembering the love, strength, laughter, and countless memories she gave to those who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation in Inge's memory, a cause close to their hearts.
