COLONIE - Howard Earl Wickham Jr. 83 passed away September 28, 2025, at The Pines Rehab Facility in Glens Falls, NY.
Earl was born on August 20, 1942, in Albany, NY son of the late Howard Earl Wickham Sr. and Dorothy (Sowek) Wickham. He served in the Army during the Vietnam war. He later worked as a mason on the Empire State Plaza and worked for General Electric at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory until he retired.
Earl was always helping people. Whether fixing cars, repairing houses, or serving in leadership roles with the Boy Scouts of America (Troop 47), Earl was always there to lend a hand. He enjoyed cooking for people and did so often for Men’s Breakfasts at his church and many holiday meals. Earl also served as a chauffeur for many events including: numerous Boy Scout trips and on multiple occasions drove the women of the church to out-of-state seminars. Earl was an avid camper who enjoyed taking annual camping vacations to his favorite spot Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire, and sitting by the fire. He really enjoyed his trips to Hawaii.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by brothers; James Wickham and David Wickham, sisters; Mary (Tribley) Williams, Dorothy McGann, and Deborah Ellis.
He is survived by wife of 57 years, Martha (O’Keefe) Wickham, daughter Amy Wickham (Angie) of Corinth, New York, son Philip Michael Wickham (Madelaine) of Jeffersonville, Kentucky, grandchildren Noah and Emma, sister Donna Parker, and brother William Wickham along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie, NY 12205 on Tuesday October 7, 2025 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. A Funeral will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 8 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY.
