Howard J. Shuler, 86, of Scotia, passed away on August 25, 2025 at Albany Medical Center.
He was born on November 14, 1938 to the late Thomas and Mary Shuler in Amsterdam, NY.
Howard worked as a Machinist for General Electric for over 40 years until his retirement in 2001. He loved animals, especially feeding the birds, squirrels and chipmunks. He was fond of woodworking, working on cars and riding his bicycle wherever he could. He was well known for his flannel shirts, suspenders and jeans. He liked to start his day reading the paper cover to cover and doing his crosswords and word searches.
Howard was a gentle soft spoken soul with a huge heart for his family. He was a great storyteller.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by the love of his life of 57 years, Mare.
Howard is survived by his loving children, Randy (Alison) Shuler, William, Patricia (David Downs), Kimberly (Alison Wacksman), grandsons Christopher, Thomas, Jeffery and Ryan as well as a plethora of extended family.
A celebration of life will be held in Rotterdam on Saturday September 6 from 1pm-4pm, please RSVP by September 3rd to ams112793@yahoo.com for address.
