Howard J. Duval

COLONIE- Howard J. Duval, age 93, passed away on September 6, 2026 at Ellis Hospital.

He was born in Ausable Forks, NY, the son of the late Rene and Hazel Duval. He was also predeceased by his daughter Renee Lebuis and his three brothers: Rene', Milton and Wayne Duval.

Howard was an Army veteran. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church and a lifetime member of the Stanford Heights Fire Department.

He was employed as a Truck Driver for Air Products and Chemicals in Selkirk, NY and Wade Tours as a Bus Driver.

He enjoyed hunting, touring on his Goldwing, vacations in Florida with Sara, building and creating with wood and other materials, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Howard is survived by his wife of 71 years, Sara J. Duval; his children: Catherine Duval (Michael Nelson) and James "Darren" Duval (Toni); grandchildren: Ed and Matthew Czajkowski, James D. Duval Jr. and Cheryl Lynn (Duval) Long, Derek and Alyssa Ragone, Kaylee and Emily LeBuis and 13 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Sunday September 13, 2026 from 2 to 5 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend his funeral Mass on Monday September 14, 2026 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2777 Albany Street, Schenectady, NY 12304 with a Last Call ceremony following at the Stanford Heights Fire Department, 2238 Central Avenue, Schenectady, NY 12304.  Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to St. Paul the Apostle Church or to a charity of your choice.
