Horace A. Hallock, Sr.

Horace A. “Bud” Hallock, Sr., 89, went home to be with the Lord on May 29, 2025, at Samaritan Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Born July 27, 1936, in Albany, NY, Bud was the son of the late Horace Edward Hallock and Emma H. Van De Wal Brady.

Bud attended Albany High School and then served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He later went to serve in the Coast Guard and then the Army Reserves. He retired from Conrail Railroad where he worked as a diesel mechanic for many years. Bud was a servant his entire life from serving in the U.S. military then his Lord through his local church. Bud began his service as a bus mechanic in First Bible Baptist in West Sand Lake, NY, then ended his service at Grace Baptist in Troy, NY, where he was an all-around handyman that would fix everything from plumbing to repairing a broken pew. Bud was very much loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed by many.

Bud is predeceased by his loving wife Ellen Elizabeth Hallock; his daughter, Nadine Hallock and grandson, Michael Hallock.

Bud is survived by his children, Cindy Hallock of Albany, NY, Darlene Hallock of Cohoes, NY, Horace Hallock Jr (Catherine) of Woodruff, SC, Larry Hallock (Missie) of Cohoes, NY; 6 grandchildren, Jessiccah Martin (Chad) Dustin Hallock (Brittney), Brandon Hallock (Tessa), Tationna Hallock, Gage Hallock, Naomi McCaffrey (Joshua); great grandchildren, Cambria, Nevaeh, Cayson, Jo, Benjamin, Elijah and Ava.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday June 5, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., with service to begin at 12 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy-Schenectady Rd, Watervliet, NY 12189. Interment will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
