Henrietta (Landy) Hines, affectionately known as "Sam" was born in Aiken, South Carolina on June 21, 1936. However, if you asked her, she would say her first birthday was on June 14th and yes, she expected gifts on both days. Henrietta moved to Albany with her oldest two children where she began working at Albany Memorial Hospital.
Henrietta would soon give birth to nine additional children. Her house would become known as the "place to eat" as she took pride in cooking and feeding anyone who was hungry. Henrietta was the devoted wife of Earl Hines and stayed by his side until his death in 2015.
Henrietta is predeceased by her parents, Lonnie Bell and Henderson Landy, her siblings; Catherine "Sis" Landy, Joseph "Pete" Landy, Ida Mae "Hitler" Staley, Wilton "Baebae" Landy, and Luther "Lil Boy". Her children; Clarence "Ir" Landy, Barbara "Bobby" Landy Robert "Vuna" Landy, and Catherine "Sister" Landy.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her siblings, Inez "Stuff" Cade, John "Back" Landy (Beverly), Deacon Klenton "Shunk" Landy Sr. (Denise), and Clint (Dorothy) Landy.
