Helen Purello

Albany - Helen M. Purello, 94, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025. Helen was the daughter of the late Patrick and Lottie Parent. Helen was the devoted wife to the late Eugene Purello. They were married almost 63 years.

Helen grew up in Tupper Lake and attended St. Lawrence University where she met her husband, Eugene.

After relocating to Long Island, Helen received her nursing degree at Belleview School of Nursing. She worked at various hospitals, Stony Brook University in Nurse Education, Assistant Director of Jubail General Hospital in Saudi Arabia and finally with the Nurses Union in NYC.

Helen was an expert knitter, crocheter and avid crafter.

Helen is survived by her son Marc and Marc’s wife Laura, her son Greg and Greg’s wife Kimberly and their daughter Amanda.

Helen is predeceased by her husband Eugene, her first husband Charles Millar, son Carl Millar, and siblings Roy, Patrick, Judy, Kathlene.

As per Helen’s wishes, there will be no viewing. Services will be held at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at 11:30 on Friday, June 6th.
