Helen E. Pitts

Helen E. Pitts, 88, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026. She was born to the late Loyal Rawson Sr. and Helen Rawson Dygert in 1938, in Glens Falls, New York.

Helen was a treasured wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and a beacon of joy within her community. She was known for her love and zest for life, laughing, and befriending everyone she met. 

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded by her brother Loyal "Mark" Rawson Jr., whose presence is dearly missed.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Lawrence Pitts Sr., as well as her children, Lowell Vickery, Tracy DeSantis, Karen (William) Jewett, Scott (Jody) Vickery and Debra Fagan. Her close-knit family includes her brothers Boyce Rawson; Ralph (Diane) Rawson, and Stephen (Pat) Rawson. Her love extended further to her seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on April 18, 2026, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals in Watervliet, New York. Following the viewing, a funeral service will be held at the funeral home. The burial will immediately follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery, Troy, New York.
