Loudonville- Helen V. Mateja, 99, passed away peacefully on, Tuesday, January 30, 2018. She was the loving wife of the late Henry J. Mateja.
While living in Albany, she co-owned Dunkin Donuts with her husband.
Helen is survived by her daughter Joanne H. Kaminski (Gerald) and grandmother to John G. (Janet) Kaminski and Nathaniel H. (Fran) Kaminski, great grandmother of Katrina, John G. Jr., Bryan, Holly, Kara and Ethan & Evan and aunt of Dorothy (Michael) Cesar and Robert S. (Susan) Mateja. Helen is also survived by her sister, Eleanor Koldras and is predeceased by her two sisters, Dorothy Mateja and Esther Fisher. She is also survived by many close family members and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet NY 12189. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 11:00am at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Rd, Loudonville, NY 12211. Interment will follow mass at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Monastery of Our Lady of the Rosary, 335 Doat St. Buffalo, NY 14211-2199 in Helen's memory.
