SCHENECTADY-Helen B. Gardy, 86, passed away on January 16, 2018.
She was born on May 26, 1931 daughter of the late Andone "Nick" and Mae Drossos in Albany, NY.
Helen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her.
Helen was predeceased by her husband Samuel F. Gardy in 2000 and her siblings, Theresa White, Harold Drossos and Joan Loudis.
She is survived by her children, Nancy L. (Michael) Caputo, Anthony (Carol) Gardy; grandchildren, Carrie Caputo, Jason Gardy(Laura), Matt Gardy (Starr); great-grandchildren, Shealyn and Payton Whipple, Asher and Lane Gardy, Trenton and Amelia Gardy; sister, Judy Graham and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service to celebrate Helen's life will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205. Visitation will be held from 10-11 prior to services. Interment will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Home for Women 1519 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12309.
