Harry F. Billings Jr.

Harry F. Billings Jr., 95, passed away peacefully at home on January 19, 2026. He enjoyed remarkably good health well into his 90s, a testament to a life built on hard work, resilience, and determination.

Harry was born to the late Harry and Grace Billings, who preceded him in death. From an early age, he embodied the value of honest labor-beginning work at just nine years old and continuing throughout his life. Work was never just a necessity for Harry; it was a source of pride and purpose.

A proud United States Marine, Harry served honorably from 1951 to 1959, a chapter of his life he held close to his heart. His commitment to service and discipline carried through to his civilian life and business.

Harry was the longtime owner and operator of Harry’s Auto Service in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, where his love for cars and mechanical skill were well known. He built not just a business, but lasting relationships with customers who trusted and respected him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Mary Billings, who was his steadfast companion and partner. Harry will also be deeply missed by his devoted American Bully, Louie, who affectionately knew him as “Poppy.”

Harry’s life was defined by loyalty, independence, and quiet strength. He leaves behind a legacy of service, craftsmanship, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.

Harry will be interred with honors at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery on May 11, 2026, a fitting resting place for a man who proudly served his country.
