Sinclair, Harriet Lansing, Albany, NY; Harriet passed away peacefully at home on January 3, 2017, at age 99, one month before her 100th birthday. She was surrounded by loving family and friends. Harriet was preceeded in death by her parents, Rose and Bernard Sinclair, sisters Ruth Davis and Anna Mae Luft, brother Albert Sinclair and nephews Albert Sinclair and Louis Luft. Surviving family include her nieces, Kathleen Kokalas (Edward) and Ellen Larson (Daryl); and grand nephews Ken Simpson (Karen), William Luft (Peg), Daryl Larson (Dusty), and grand nieces Tonya Poppe (Trent) and Christine Bloem. She had many other great nieces and nephews and close friends who loved her very much. She will be remembered for her love of and caring for friends, family and animals, expecially her cats and birds. She was always there to lend a helping hand.
Harriet grew up in Albany and was an active and dedicated member of the First Church in Albany since early childhood. She had served as a deacon and worked as secretary at the Church. She also worked at the Internal Revenue Service and part time at Albany Medical Center. At First Church she was also a member of the Kate Allard Group and The Weathervanes.
A memorial service will be held at the First Church in Albany (address below) at 11:30 am on Saturday, January 7, 2017.
