Knox- Harold F. Taber, 83, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 with his loving family by his side.
Harold was born in Amsterdam, NY on December 19, 1932 to the late Harold and Lillian Taber. Harold served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. In 1985 he married the love of his life, Cecelia. They were married for 31 years. In 1996 Harold retired from SUNY Albany with over 30 years of service. Harold will be remembered for his love of camping, traveling, and cruise ships. His passion in life was his family.
Harold is predeceased by his son, Paul Taber, and his sisters, Donna and Audrey.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cecelia, his children; Melinda Taber, John (Sue) Taber, Kevin (Denise) Hanley, Kelly (Antonio) Tavares-DaSilva, and Shawn (Tracy) Hanley, his brother, Donald (Nancy) Edwards, his 10 grandchildren; Jessica, Kevin, Danny, Ashley, Stephen, Kaylla, Brandan, Fernando, Brett, Kristen, and Amadeu, and his 3 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Sunday, November 6, 2016 from 1:00pm-4:00pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Madeline Sophie Church, 3500 Carmen Road, Guilderland, NY 12303, on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 10:00am. Burial will be held at Saratoga National Cemetery, Saratoga, NY.
