Harold C. Dunham

Burnt Hills- Harold C. Dunham, 94, of Burnt Hills passed away peacefully Saturday February 11th, 2017 at the home of his granddaughter, with his loving family by his side.

Born on November 3rd, 1922 in Pittstown, NY to Clarence and Mary (Cottrell) Dunham. Harold graduated from Troy High School in 1940. Harold served in the United States Airforce from 1942-1946 in India Burma. On October 9, 1949, Harold married his wife, of 58 years, Carol J (Winchell) Dunham, until her passing in 2008.

For 37 years, Harold was employed as a test man at GE in Schenectady, until his retirement in 1987. Harold was a communicant of State Street Presbyterian Church, where he served as a trustee and Sunday school teacher.
Harold (Bing) enjoyed spending time in his yard feeding the birds and chipmunks. Whenever the weather permitted, Harold could be found in his back yard sitting in the sun "working on his tan". Harold thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family celebrating each holiday and family festivity. He was known for always being the life of the party with his cheer "Let's Have a Party".

In addition to his parents and wife, Harold was predeceased by his sister Ruth Jacks, his sister Eleanor Panthan, his brother Howard Dunham, his brother Walter Dunham, his son Paul Dunham and grandson Christopher Dunham. Harold is survived by his brother Warren (Maureen) Dunham of Queensbury, his son Walter (Pattie) Dunham of Rotterdam, his daughter Linda Cognetta of Schenectady, his daughter in law Paula Dunham of Scotia, and his son Mark (Annetta) Dunham of Burnt Hills. Harold is also survived by his 13 beloved grandchildren: Jennifer (Jeremy) Dunham, Tricia (Rick) Macejka, Jeffrey (Jessica) Dunham, Michele (Mike) Maychack, Katherine (Guy) Parker, Amanda (Derek) Dunham, Brian Cognetta, Christina Cognetta, Laurie (Tom) LaVallee, James (Lydia) Cognetta, Kimberly (James) Kowalski, Michael (Miranda) Dunham and Matthew (Jamie) Dunham and 33 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 16, 11am at State Street Presbyterian Church, State and Catherine Streets, Schenectady.

Calling hours are Wednesday, February 15th from 5pm-8pm, at the Newcomer Funeral Home
,181 Troy Schenectady Rd. Watervliet, NY 12189. Interment is at Elmwood Cemetery in Schaghticoke in the spring.
