Harold Barrett’s Obituary

20 April 1941- 06 January 2025

Harold Barrett Jr. of Menands, New York completed his circle of life on the 6th of January 2025, at the age of 83. 

Harold was a caring and friendly man, survived by his two sons, Harold Barrett II (wife Bernice) and Michael Barrett; daughter, Deborah Comfort (husband Charles); three grandchildren, Stephen Barrett, Jamie Hockey-Barrett, and Emma Comfort; and his brother Wayne Barrett. We would be remised to not mention his beloved sister and brother-in-law, pre-deceased, Lois and Leo Nolan.

He had a great love of sports and his country, serving in the New York National Guard. When not at home, Harold could be found in the bleachers of a local baseball Stadium, in the stands at a hockey match (a proud season ticket holder for the Albany River Rats), or enjoying the warm weather at Saratoga Racetrack. 

A friend to everyone, Harold will be sorely missed by all he came in contact with; most recently the staff at Shaker Place and many of its residents. 

The family will gather and celebrate Harold’s life later this year, and in lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Harold’s name to a charity that has impacted your life.

A Celebration of Harold's Life and inurnment will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 11 am in Albany Rural Cemetery (please use the South Gate off of NY-378.)
