Gwenyth McCurdy, 82 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the Teresian House with her loving family by her side.
Born in Schenectady, New York, she was the daughter of the late William Edgar Lawrence Ward and Kathyrn (O'Boyle) Ward.
Gwenyth was a loving daughter, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother who took great joy in spending time with her family. She loved to cook and to host large family get togethers. She shared her life with an uncountable number of pets over her lifetime. She gave greatly of herself to support her family, friends and pets. She lived in both New York State and Connecticut where she held numerous jobs that she greatly enjoyed.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Efrym Lawrence Ward, and her son, Lawrence Alan Doherty.
Gwenyth is survived by her daughter, Doreen (Edmund) Filipiak of Florida, Laura (Pat) Brewer of Schenectady, NY, Robin Roennpagel, Florida, and Linda (Eric) Brown, Delanson, NY. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Krystina Schuler and Anthony Filipiak , Kelly Martin, Ryan and Brandon Doherty, Jason and Brian Brewer, and Melissa Romaniello. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind niece, Debbie Ward Mason, and nephew, David Ward.
The family would like to thank all those at Teresian House who cared for Gwen and made her life better in her years there, and the many residents that she was happy and proud to call her friends.
