Gracemary Carter Siler

Gracemary Carter Siler from Niskayuna, NY passed away peacefully on November 2025 with her family by her side. She was born on August 24, 1942 in Schenectady, NY. Gracemary was predeceased by her parents Elmer and Hildegarde Carter, sisters Dorothy Hanke and Lee Hulstrunk, brother Elmer Carter and sons David Siler and Raymond Siler. 

Gracemary graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1960. She was a homemaker for many years raising her three children. Gracemary went on to work in many different settings throughout her lifetime. Through these workplaces, she developed many life-long friendships. Gracemary was a very strong and independent woman. Throughout her life, Gracemary constantly had to correct people to pronounce her name correctly and not shorten it to Grace or MaryGrace. It was a beautiful name for a unique and beautiful soul. She had a strong love for her family, friends and pets (especially Ming and Dallas). Gracemary loved antiques and cherished her collections throughout her lifetime. She spent a great deal of time at her cottage on Saratoga Lake building memories with family and friends. 

Gracemary is survived by her daughter and son in law, Kristina and Sal DeAngelo, granddaughters, Gabriella and Sophia DeAngelo and her beloved parrot, Dallas. 

The DeAngelo family would like to thank The Community Hospice Team that supported Gracemary throughout her illness giving her respect, care and love. A special shout out to Lou and Paul who were exceptional at their craft. We are also so grateful for the support of family friends, colleagues and neighbors.
