DELMAR - Betty, Ristau, 98, died Thursday February 12, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was born on January 21, 1917 to Charles G. and Annie K. McClasky in Albany. She was the youngest of three daughters. She graduated from Albany High School and Albany Business College. Betty was a Bookkeeper by trade; had several jobs over the years, in addition to being a homemaker, She also had artistic talents, and worked in several media including ceramics, oils and fabrics.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Willard Henry Ristau, and her two older sisters: Eva McClasky and Annie (Nan) Striebel. She is survived by her son Willard H. Ristau, Jr (Rose); granddaughter, Tracy, nieces Elizabeth Baldes and Sandra Grant; nephew Robert Ristau and many great nieces and nephews and their families.
Betty was a resident of Kenwood Manor for eight years, and a longtime member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
A private memorial Service will be held at a later date at the discretion of the family. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 85 Elm Avenue, Delmar, New York, 12054 or to Kenwood Manor at Good Samaritan Village, 141 Rockefeller, Road, Delmar NY12054.
