EAST BERNE_Grace M. Ryan, 85, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2015 at Ellis Hospital.
She was born on August 30, 1930 to the late, Merle and Mary (Black) Thompson in Utica. Grace worked as a salesperson for Liberty Mutual in Albany. She was married to the late Earl L. Ryan and they raised their 3 children in East Berne at the family home.
She was a member of South Berne Church. She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed gardening, canning, doing puzzles, reading and shopping at garage sales. Grace will be remembered as a kind, loving and giving person and will be dearly missed by those who had the privilege to know and love her.
Grace is survived by her son , Dennis E.(Alicia) Ryan; daughters, Donna M. (Michael) McNeill, Ruth (Mike) Presti; grandchildren, Daniel Ryan, Alicia (Frank) VanIderstine, Patrick R. Toma, James Presti, John Presti, Shauna Presti; 3 great- grandchildren; brothers, Wayne (Jean) Thompson, Ralph (Joanne) Thompson; sisters-in-law, Katherine Thompson, Anne Ryan and her nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased in death by her daughter Jane Ryan, her husband Earl; her siblings, Ronald, Jean, Shirley and Merle and her brother-in-law, Donald Ryan.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 10, 2015 from 4-7 pm at New Comer Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held following visitation at 7pm on Thursday. Interment will take place on Friday, December 11, 2015 at the Family Cemetery located at 3090 Delaware Turnpike, East Berne, NY 12059.
