Albany- Glenn Ivan "Rashiek" Maxwell, 53, of Albany, New York, passed away on March 1, 2026. Born on January 7, 1971, in Hartford, Connecticut, Glenn lived his life with rhythm, resilience, and a whole lot of soul.
A proud truck driver, Glenn spent many miles on the road, but no matter where life took him, his heart was always with his family. He was more than a driver he was a performer at heart. A true breakdancer who could light up any room, Glenn moved through life to the beat of his own soundtrack. Music was his passion. With his self-made studio, rapping sessions, instruments, and love for instrumental music, he created joy not just for himself, but for everyone around him. Glenn loved to cook, loved to laugh, loved to party, and always had something funny to say especially about his children. A proud Capricorn, he carried strength, loyalty, and determination, wrapped in humor and sweetness. He had a kind spirit and a big personality that made people feel welcome and loved.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Johnson of Bronx, New York; his brother, Maurice Oliver of Bronx, New York; and his beloved Anna Castro of Albany, New York.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Linda Ponce Maxwell; his sister, Linda
Stanfield; his seven beloved children: Khadijah Davis, Monaisha Leigh, Rashiek Haynes, Radaysia Maxwell, Casiem Maxwell, Fatima Tucker, and Princess Maxwell; his additional love children, Alexis Shatara and Shavasia; and twelve cherished grandchildren who brought immense pride and joy to his life. He also leaves behind extended family, friends, and all who were blessed to share in his laughter, music, and unforgettable dance moves.
Glenn's journey on this earth may have ended, but the music he created, the meals he cooked, the jokes he told, and the love he gave will continue to play on in the hearts of those who loved him.
His legacy lives on in rhythm, in resilience, and in love.
