Gladys Esther Santiago

Gladys Santiago, 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 4, 2025, at home with her loving family by her side. Gladys was pre-deceased by her loving mother, Natividad Benitez.

Gladys was the devoted wife of Fred Santiago. They were married for 47 years. Gladys worked for over 30 years for the Federal government, retiring from the US Department of Labor. Gladys was loved by everyone she met and lit up any room with her amazing smile. She enjoyed spending time going to Sam’s Club, throwing parties, dancing, spending time with her family and devoted friend Denise Lamphere, and cooking for them. Gladys is survived by her siblings, Petra Lopez, Juan E. Perez, and her children, Corinne Santiago (Kacie Corona) and Fred Santiago, Jr. She was the loving “Mima” to Christian, Selena, Justin, Haley, and Dominick, and TITI Gladys to Louis, Mikey, and Jose.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, New York,on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Internment will follow the service at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Watervliet, NY, where she will be laid to rest next to her mother.
