Geraldine Guthrie

COHOES - Geraldine Burke Guthrie, 97, passed away on August 14, 2026. She was born on July 25, 1929 in Jersey City, New Jersey

She was the daughter of the late John and Ann Burke; wife of the late Donald Guthrie and was also predeceased by a daughter in law, Beverly Guthrie.

Gerry graduated from Cathedral Academy in Albany and went to work as a switchboard operator for NY Telephone Co in Albany. She later worked in sales for Hanover Fine China, Emmons Jewelry, Petri Fashions and others.

She enjoyed traveling with Donald to many parts of the world including Central and South America and Europe. She mostly enjoyed time spent in Puerto Rico, Florida and Brant Lake.

She is survived by her children Jennifer Newton (Robert) East Nassau, NY, Jeffrey Guthrie Troy, NY. Grandchildren Stuart Guthrie (Katie) Nashville, Tn, Zoe (Karla) Troy, Ny, Great Grandchildren Taylor Guthrie, Molly Guthrie and Lennox Guthrie, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A visiting hour will be from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm with a funeral service to immediately follow at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 21, 2026 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
