Gerald "Jerry" A. Giagni

Gerald "Jerry" Giagni, 76, passed away peacefully at home on October 19, 2025

Born March 12, 1949, Jerry grew up in Albany, NY and was a familiar face at his grandfather's barbershop, Patsy's. He graduated from Cardinal McCloskey High School in 1967 and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Navy. Upon returning home he began a long career with the NY Telephone Company where he worked until his retirement. Jerry was an active and passionate member of his union, CWA Local 1118 serving on the Executive Board for many years.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, JoAnne (Schiesel), his three children, AnneMarie (Michael Frank), Brian (Denise DiBari) and Christopher (Lindsey).

A dedicated husband and loving father, Jerry's greatest joy came from being an engaged PopPop to his six grandchildren: Miles, Tyler, Aria, Alaina, Nicoletta and Lorenzo. In his later years, he cherished attending their sporting events and dance recitals, and sharing with them his greatest passion—fishing.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to St. Peter’s Community Hospice, with a special thank you to Nicole for the compassionate care provided during Jerry’s final days.

A public visitation will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, New York 12205 on Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
