Watervliet — Georgianna Kahl, 83, passed away peacefully from natural causes on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at home, with her loving family by her side.
Georgianna was the daughter of the late Charles and Marion Hallett. She had been married to the late Ronald Kahl and experienced a number of meaningful relationships throughout her life.
Georgianna retired after more than 40 years of dedicated service with the New York State Department of State Licensing Services.
Georgianna was a former communicant of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was an avid league bowler. She also enjoyed crocheting, writing poetry, dancing, and embracing life with a sense of fun. She especially treasured her time with her friends in the Rensselaer SKI Club.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Richard Hallett, husband of the late Barbara Hallett; her sister, Kathy (Roland) Messier, her sister, Beverly (Ebbie) VanWagenen; and her brother, William Hallett, husband of the late Rose Hallett.
Georgianna is survived by her sister Suzanne (Richard) Cornell and her brother Ronald Hallett; her children, Daniel (Debbi) Drallmeier, Vicki Wolfe, Brandi Engwer. She is the cherished grandmother of Geanna (Dan Guay) Granger, Danyal Harris (Raymond Guilbault), Heather Wolfe (Lewis Jackson), DJ (Lauren) Wolfe, Kara Wolfe (Tae Paulk), Brianna (Jack) Canary, and Dakotha Engwer. She was also blessed with 12 great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members, all of whom will carry her memory forward with love.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, NY on Wednesday April 22, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. A funeral service will follow the calling hours at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Memory Garden's, Colonie, NY where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff of Community Hospice. Special thanks are especially given to Jaime and Lori, who showed Georgianna such tender love and compassionate care over the past year and in her final days.
Georgianna was a passionate supporter of many charitable causes. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to a charity of your choice.
