He was born on October 16, 1929 in Albany, NY to the late George J. Govel, Sr. and Theresa Govel.
George was the founder, owner and operator of Govel Welding in Colonie.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 59 years, Marjorie Govel; brother, Robert; sisters, Helen and Josephine.
George is survived by his children, George J. (Karen) Govel, Laurie Govel and Richard Govel. He is the proud grandfather of Kristofer and George R. Govel and great-granddaughter, Charlotte Govel.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice in George's memory.
Funeral service for George will be private at the convenience of the family.
