ALBANY- George F. "Mickey" Greene, 68, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2016 from complications due to diabetes.
Mickey was born in Albany, NY on November 17, 1947 to the late Lillian E. Taylor and George F. Greene Sr. He was the husband to Alicia Proskin-Greene for 44 years. Mickey graduated from Albany High School, and he retired from Shepherd & Moorse Lumber Yard. He also worked as a long shore man for the Port of Albany for over 15 years.
Mickey is survived by his loving wife, Alicia, his four brothers; John (Sue) Greene, Rich (Carole) Greene, Jeff Taylor, and James (Nancy) Taylor, his brother-in-law, Richard(Cheryl) Proskin, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is predeceased by his in-laws, Albert and Arda Proskin, his brother-in-laws, Allan Proskin Sr., and David Proskin, and his sister-in-law, Cathy Taylor.
Calling hours will be held at Christ our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Dr., Albany, NY 12211, on Monday, October 10, 2016 from 9:00am-11:00am with a funeral liturgy to immediately follow. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312, or to the charity of your choice.
