DELMAR - Frank Jerome Erickson, born January 8th, 1925, died on Wednesday, June 27th, 2018 at the age of 93.
Frank was born in New York, NY and spent his childhood in Forest Hills, NY. After his graduation from the Peddie School in Princeton, NJ, he enrolled in the U.S. Marines. Frank served honorably and fought bravely in the battle of Iwo Jima. Frank attended Temple University and graduated from New York Law School. He was a member of the NY Bar Association and had his own real estate firm in Mineola, NY.
Frank married his beloved Jean MacLeod, of Newark, NY, in 1949. They were happily married for 68 ½ years. They raised their four children in Glen Cove, NY and Windham, NY. They were longtime residents of Delmar, NY. They had recently moved to Troy, NY to be with family. Frank was predeceased by his father, Frank A. Erickson, mother, Amelia Erickson and sister, Frances Watson.
Frank will be forever loved and remembered by his wife, Jean; son, Frank Erickson and wife Barbara, son, Donald Erickson and wife Sandra, daughter, Dr. Amelia Erickson and spouse Karen Andrews, and daughter, Karin Ford and spouse Nicholas. Frank was the proud grandfather of Reid Erickson, Kyle Erickson, Dr. Donal Erickson and fiancee Kim Nedza, Frank Erickson, Zachariah Erickson, Ian Ford and wife Kaitlyn, Eric Ford, and Ethan Ford.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Doctors and Staff at the Stratton VA Medical Center for the excellent care given to Frank. Along with the wonderful hospice care from Rensselaer Hospice.
A private service will be held with entombment and military honors at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the Jay Fund.
