Frank J. Andrews

Alplaus- Frank J. Andrews, 89, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on January 12, 2017. The son of the late Ilario and Maria Rosa (Agostino) Andriano, Frank was born on June 23, 1927 in Albany, NY. A member of our Nation's Greatest Generation, Frank honorably and faithfully served in the US Navy during World War II. He was married to Lena (Lemme) in 1949 and shared 53 wonderful years until her passing in 2002. He worked for over 30 years for Albany International in Menands where he retired as a supervisor in 1983. An avid outdoorsman, Frank shared a love for hunting, fishing and camping, especially in the Adirondacks, with his family, friends and coworkers. In his later years, Frank looked forward to his weekly card games with his close friends. He will be missed by his two labs, Rocky and Bruno.

Frank is survived by his children: Karen Seminary and Larry (Vicki Bell) Andrews; his grandchildren: John Seminary, Jr., twins, Joseph and Jason Seminary, Vincent Grassia and Maria Grassia; his great-grandchildren: Elijah, Kadin and Alena; his sister, Rosemary Markham and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents and his loving wife, Frank was predeceased by his daughter, Joyce Grassia; his sisters: Josephine Silvano, Victoria (Vi) Romano, Viola Campbell, Carmella Scarborough, Catherine Berghela and his infant brother, Joseph Andrews.

Frank's family wishes to express their gratitude to his family physician, Dr. Joseph Fusella and Community Hospice of Saratoga, and his daily Hospice Aide, Rosalie Bonitatibus for their loving and compassionate care.

In keeping with the family's wishes, services for Frank will be private.
