TROY- Frances R. Hudy, 74, passed away at St. Peters Hospital on Saturday, May 23, 2015 with her loving family by her side.
Fran was born in Troy, NY to the late Anthony and Helen Hanczarky on August 25, 1940. Fran was educated in the Troy City Schools. She held many different jobs over her life and enjoyed her long career as a waitress at Howard Johnsons. In 2001 she retired as a custodian from Russel Sage College. Fran always took pride in whatever work she did and will be remembered as a great "people person!"
Fran is predeceased by her siblings; Peter (Joyce) Hanczarky and Rita Hanczarky.
Fran is survived by her loving daughters; Joanne Hudy, and Christine Torrey, her granddaughter, Ciara Torrey, her siblings; Helen Eveleth, Mary Lou Glass, Theresa Hansen, and Anthony Hanczarky Jr., several nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.
Fran will be remembered for her love of gardening and cooking. She loved animals, and her outside cats will miss her very much! Fran enjoyed her granddaughter's (AKA her 'Sugar Plum') musical recitals and soccer games.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY, on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, from 10:00-12:00 with a funeral service to immediately follow.
Donations may be made in Fran's name to the American Heart Association, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or The Humane Society.
