Floyd T."Ft" Gilbert

Schenectady- Floyd T. "FT" Gilbert passed away on December 30, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was 60 years old.
The son of late Floyd R. and Lois C. (Newcomb) Gilbert, Jr., FT was born on January 3, 1955 in Buffalo, NY. FT worked for many years at the Cranberry Bog and was the Head Chef at Shaker Ridge Country Club in Albany.
FT was an avid fan of the NY Mets and NY Jets. He loved travelling with his wife, Julie, relaxing at home and animals.
FT is survived by his wife of 14 years, Julie Gilbert; his daughters: Crystal (Chris) Clausen and Kelly Laniewski; his siblings: Karen (Tom) Schilz, Peter (Diane) Gilbert and Mark Gilbert; his grandson, Christian E. Clausen, Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved companion Sunny.
Visitation will be held from 4 pm to 7 pm on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will follow at 7 pm. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
