TROY - Filomena "Phyllis" Belleville, 81, passed away at her home on Saturday, July 7, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.
Phyllis was born on May 26, 1937 in Herkimer, NY and was the daughter of the late Mary and Nicholas Barbuto of Watervliet, NY. She was retired from Seagroatt Floral Company and has spent the last 10 years working as a Coordinator of Institutional Advancement for the Albany College of Pharmacy. She was also the secretary of the education program for Local 259M of the GCIU for 6 years. She enjoyed traveling, poker nights with family, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Troy, NY. Phyllis was the matriarch of our family who always put others before herself. Her infectious smile will be dearly missed by all.
Phyllis is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Joseph A. Belleville, Jr., her loving children, Greg (the late Michael Kapu) Belleville, Joe (Chris) Belleville, Anita (Jim) Lanzilotti and Sharon (Michael) Garzone; her cherished grandchildren, Jen (Jack Krokos) Belleville, Elizabeth (Ryan Kusky) Belleville, Andrew, Kyle and Justin Lanzilotti and Mia and Maddy Garzone. Her brother Nicholas (the late Ruth) Barbuto and sister Barbara (James) Quick, and her sisters-in-law Shirley Belleville and Valentina Barbuto. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister Minnie (the late Peter) Glusko, her brother Thomas Barbuto, her in-laws Lillian and Joseph A. Belleville Sr., Lillian (William) Belleville Goodman, Helen (Emery) Miller, Mary (Robert) Fulston and Walter J. Belleville.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment, Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
