ALBANY- Faith B. Stark, 87, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 12, 2017, surrounded by members of her loving family.
Faith was born in Albany, daughter of the late Harold and Helen Gorgen Babcock, and lived in Albany until moving to Glen Eddy Terrace in 2015. Her identical twin sister Hope Scheppers and younger sister Anne Lynch both predeceased her. At the age of 17, Faith met the love of her life, Keith Stark. They were married in 1951 and celebrated 62 years together until Keith's passing in 2014.
Family was everything to Faith. She was a homemaker, excellent cook, and proud of her children and their families. She kept close contact with many cousins and was a wonderful source for personal stories about her parents, grandparents, and even great-grandparents. A Sunday dinner at Mom's with less than a dozen people was unusual. Until her mid-eighties, she would arrive at family holiday dinners with two giant turkeys cooked to perfection.
She is survived by her children: Stephen (Meg) Stark, Karen (late Doug Record) Stark, Shelley (Frank) Smith, Paul (Caroline) Stark, Mark (Madeline) Stark, and Valerie (Vince) Nicotina.
Also survived by grandchildren Loretta Stark, Katie Coonradt, Alison Secor, Alexandra Stark and Laura Kelly; Helen and Owen Record; Francis and Keith Smith; Connor and Kieran Stark; Mitchell, Adam, Jacob and Keith Stark; Colin, Eric, and Garrett Nicotina, as well as great-grandchildren Kali, Zach, Caroline, Scott, Shane, Grant, and Brendan, sister-in-law Betty Stark, cousins: Kay Robillard, Marie Evans, Patty Palmer, and Jackie Pillsworth; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She had a special affection for her sisters' children: Karl and Eric Scheppers; Linda Malloy, and Ron, Bob, and Bill Lynch.
The family wishes to thank the staff of St Peter's ICU, especially her nurse Kimberly; and the staff and her many friends at the Terrace for making the last two years so enjoyable for Faith.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 4:00pm-7:00pm.
