Eugene P. Farnan Jr.

Eugene P. Farnan, Jr., 77, passed peacefully on July 28, 2025, at St. Peter’s Hospital, with his loving family by his side.

Born on April 6, 1948, in Albany NY, he was the son of the late Eugene P. Farnan Sr and Virginia Upton.

Gene, as he was called by friends and family, grew up on Beverley Avenue in Albany. He attended St. Joseph’s School in Albany, and had worked as a Union mason for much of his career. Gene was an avid hunter, enjoyed playing golf, and knew his way around a bowling alley. Gene was an all-around outdoorsman, which he passed down to his sons and grandchildren. He loved coaching his son's baseball teams for over 25 years with the East Greenbush Little League, and above all, spending quality time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Gene was predeceased by his son, Kevin M. Farnan Sr., and his brother, David E. Farnan.

He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Kathleen M. Farnan; sons, Eugene P. Farnan III (Angelina), Daniel P. Farnan (Nickole), Joesph F. Farnan (Ashley); grandchildren, Matthew (Ashley), Patrick (Bailey), Nathan, Connor, Declan, and Grady; great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Mallory, and Cedar; brothers, Richard, Thomas and John Farnan; sisters, Bettyjean Durante and Donna Musella.

Calling hours will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, on Friday, August 8, 2025. A service to immediately follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
