Esther H. Persico

Esther H. Persico, 91, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, at St. Peter's Hospice Inn.

Esther was the daughter of the late Frank and Albertha Gifford. She was predeceased by her beloved partner, Louis "Pete" Peterson; and her siblings, Frank, Irene, and Dehlia.

Esther's greatest pride and joy was her family. She is survived by her children Anthony, Deborah (John) Hillmann, Rocco, and her daughter-in-law, Cathy (John) Rowe.

She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Jason (Danielle) Silvano, Kayla (Bob) Macey, and John A. (Olivia) Hillmann; great-grandchildren, Luciano, Giovanni, Ava, Ella, and Robbie.

Esther was a strong, determined and independent individual right up to her passing. She had a wonderful sense of humor, spoke her mind, and lived life on her own terms. She enjoyed watching “NASHCAR” (NASCAR) races and her favorite crime shows, traveling to go-kart tracks to proudly cheer on her grandchildren, Kayla and John, camping, taking bus trips with Bethlehem Seniors, and any opportunity to indulge in a glazed donut and iced coffee from Dunkin'. She will be deeply missed.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 5-7p.m.,and funeral services directly following at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205.

Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Esther's memory may be made to Delmar-Bethlehem EMS or the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital.
