Esther H. Thorsland

Albany- Esther H. Thorsland passed away on May 22, 2015 at St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Albany. She was 92 years old.
The daughter of the late Norton and Harriet (Hettinger) Haagner, Esther was born on April 3, 1923 in Albany, NY.
She was married to David E. Thorsland who predeceased her in 2011. She was also predeceased by two sisters: Florence L. Horn and Elizabeth Pagano.
She is survived by her sister Harriet Nolan, her special nephew Robert (Linda) Horn who was her caregiver for the last four years and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
Esther worked for many years for the New York State Department of Tax and Finance. She volunteered for the Red Cross at the blood bank. She and her husband enjoyed mountain climbing, the outdoors, gardening, birds and flowers.
Burial will be held at 10 am at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery on Friday, May 29.
