ALBANY- Ernestine Lucas, 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Guilderland Center Nursing Home. She was born on July 17, 1927 to the late William and Lucille Lucas. Ernestine moved to the Bronx to begin her career and later in life returned to the Albany area to be near her family.
Ernestine was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Louise Kirkley, Louis Lucas, and Rose Lucas.
She is survived by her sister, Yvonne Bigger; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of family members and friends.
A service will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 11 am at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. A calling hour will precede the service from 10-11 am at the funeral home.
